What a lovely evening!
Last night we hosted an Adnams wine tasting together with a Christmas Canapes demonstration by Vernon from The Table Restaurant Woodbridge and Will his assistant.
The evening was a huge success, a group of ladies from various W.I.s locally responded to our invitation to come and join us in the showroom for some light hearted wine discussion as we all tasted Vernon’s canapes, He tempted us first with parmesan lollipops, following with prawn creme fraiche and smoke salmon on a bed of sticky rice sitting on a slice of cucumber, leading to the smoked mackerel, wasabe and creme fraiche pate on oatcakes and the finale was braised duck leg in hoisin and plum sauce with a hint of chilli in a baby gem lettuce leaf wrap! Andy from Adnams Cellar and Kitchen Woodbridge, guiding us to ensure we matched the right wine with the right food. My favourite was the Adnams selection Tuscan red, which enhanced the duck leg lettuce wraps. Andy also introduced us to the Adnams House wine range. The evening culminated in a raffle, all monies going to St. Elizabeth Hospice. Everyone was most enthusiastic at the idea that there would be more cookery demos at the showroom, and with the prospect of a larger showroom in the new year, and with more chairs it will just get better and better!
