Pandora’s Box

In the fun and glamour of glitzy kitchens and celebrity chef cooking demonstrations it’s easy to overlook the fundamental craftsmanship that underlines everything that we do. As Marco Pierre White is a cook, Picasso a painter and J K Rowling a writer – we at Anglia Factors are cabinet makers. We manufacture bespoke interiors from (mainly) wood; book cases, cupboards, tables, kitchen and bathroom cabinets and home cinema enclosures. All in our workshop in Martlesham.

An example of just such a cabinet is often overlooked in our showroom, located between the old and the new areas is pandora’s box; a beautiful piece a wood that, when opened reveals what a cupboard can be!

So, how is the new showroom?

We opened our brand new extended showroom last September. So how has it worked out?

Anglia Factors Demo Kitchen

Great new demonstration kitchen

We can display many more different styles of kitchens and bathrooms as well as storage ideas. Plus we have working coffee machines, ovens and hobs to allow us to demonstrate the appliances we offer. Our customers love the new space. It’s light, warm and welcoming and lets them see, touch and explore the various styles of cabinetry, gadgets and finishes. Many of them have commented on how great it looks and, more importantly, how useful it is in helping them to decide what elements they want in their own homes.

Our last cookery demonstration

Our last cookery demonstration

Furthermore the new showroom has enabled us to run a full programme of cooking demonstrations where we invite local chefs to use our amazing demo kitchen to show people how to cook various things. The kitchen has video cameras and microphones to give the audience clear idea of what’s going on. For example we had Vernon Blackmore from The Table in Woodbridge come and show the W.I. how to cook Gressingham Duck. It was great fun and really informative for the ladies. We have future dates booked in for the Home Economist from Neff to show how to get the most out of the Neff ovens as well as Celebrity Chef, Paul Foster, who always puts on a great show. Not only that but we go ‘on the road’ – providing a moblie demonstration kitchen for the Suffolk Show and Flavours Food & Drink festivals.

Client meeting room

And we’ve been able to improve customer service; the library in our showroom acts as a comfortable private meeting room and is a great spot for us to take clients through their plans and update them on their project. And we have two members of the team with desks in the showroom so someone is always on hand to look after customers. Additionally, because we make all of our cabinetry in the workshop beside the showroom, our team is always very busy working with the carpenters and engineers to make sure everything is just right. Customers can see that their new kitchen is truly ‘Made in Martlesham’!

Made in Martlesham

All in all the showroom has been a great innovation for our customers and us, but don’t take our word for it – pop in and see us, we’re here to help.

Dawn Elsom at a recent demo

Anglia Factors, Suffolk’s leading kitchen specialist, is showcasing the latest Neff appliances at a cookery demonstration on Saturday 16th May at its recently extended showroom at 34 Gloster Road, Martlesham.

The demonstration, led by Neff’s home economist Dawn Elsom, will take place on the purpose build demonstration kitchen. Dawn will show the audience the advantages and practicality Neff appliances offer by creating a range of dishes for guests to try, while offering explanation and answering questions throughout the demonstration.

Daniel Barr, Owner of Anglia Factors, said: “Neff is the UK’s market leader in built in appliances. Its Slide & Hide oven doors have been in the spotlight recently in the Great British Bake Off tent. These demonstrations have been very popular with our customers. It’s a fun, relaxed way to see how to get the best results from Neff appliances while having a nice time. As a provider of Neff appliances, we want to show people what the appliances can do and invite them to see first-hand how they produce tasty and nutritious food.”

The event is free to attend although booking is essential as places are limited. There will be two seated demonstrations: 10.30am – 12.30pm and 1.00pm – 3.00pm. There will be a raffle in aid of St. Elizabeth Hospice to support the fund raising efforts of Owner Daniel Barr and his son who are taking part in the 300 mile Hospice Team 100 London-Paris cycle ride later this year.

The event is free to attend although booking is essential as places are limited. There will be a raffle in aid of St. Elizabeth Hospice to support the fund raising efforts of Owner Daniel Barr and his son who are taking part in the 300 mile Hospice Team 100 London-Paris cycle ride later this year.

Daniel Barr, Owner of Anglia Factors, said: “We want to give people the opportunity to see first-hand how the appliances we supply work in practice. At these demos they can relax, see the technology in action, sample the results, have a look around and ask the chef and the team any questions. It’s a really useful and enjoyable way to research what kitchen you’d like.”
